Kitchenaid Refrigerator Filter Replacement Instructions

Replacement Instructions

Interior Mount

  1. Locate filter compartment at the right upper corner inside the refrigerator.
  2. You might have to remove the upper shelf for more room.
  3. Gently lift up on filter cover and filter will automatically slide out.
  4. Slide old filter all the way out, noticing the arrow on the end is facing up. (the water will shut off automatically)
  5. Discard the old filter.
  6. Line the arrow on end of the new filter upward.
  7. Gently Push the new filter into the fridge with arrow facing up till it stops.
  8. As you close the filter cover you will notice that the filter will go in and lock into place.
  9. Reinstall Shelf (if taken out)
  10. Reset your change filter light (if your fridge has one)

Mounts Thru Lower Front Grill Mount

  1. Locate filter at the lower front grill of refrigerator.
  2. Gently lift up on filter cover and filter will automatically slide out.
  3. Slide old filter all the way out, noticing the arrow on the end is facing up. (the water will shut off automatically)
  4. Discard the old filter.
  5. Line the arrow on end of the new filter upward & Gently Push the new filter into the fridge with arrow facing up till it stops.

  2. You might have to remove the upper shelf for more room.
  3. Push on the filter cover to open filter compartment.
  4. The filter will drop down and to remove you will push in and turn counterclockwise and pull straight out. (the water will shut off automatically)
  5. Discard the old filter.
  6. Line the notch on end of the new filter upward.
  7. Push the new filter into the fridge with notch facing up and gently push filter while twisting clockwise till it locks into place.
  8. Push filter upward till it locks in the compartment and close the cover.
  9. Re-install Shelf (if taken out)
  10. Reset your change filter light (if your fridge has one)

  3. Remove the reusable color-keyed cap from the end
  4. Discard the old filter
  5. Twist the cap onto the end of the new filter
  6. Push the new filter straight in until it ‘Clicks’ into place
  7. Note: To install filter push until you hear the receiver click into place. Improper installation may cause leaks, damage to flooring and appliances.
  8. Reset your Change Filter light (if your refrigerator has one)

  2. While pushing in, Twist the old filter counterclockwise until it is free.
